Think about the leaders who truly inspire you – they’re usually the ones who are comfortable in their own skin and communicate in a way that feels authentic to them. Trying to be someone you’re not can feel forced and can hinder your connection with your team.
For your one-minute video today, I want you to tell a short story about a leadership moment that reflects your unique style. Don’t try to imitate anyone else. Focus on communicating in a way that feels natural and genuine to you. Let your personality come through in your tone, your word choice, and your non-verbal cues.
After you’ve recorded your video, watch it back and reflect on how much of your true self came through. Did it feel authentic to you? Did you feel comfortable being yourself on camera? Note down one aspect of your natural communication style that you felt shone through and one area where you could perhaps be even more authentically you tomorrow.
