THE 30 DAY
CONFIDENT COMMUNICATION CHALLENGE
Alright everyone, welcome to Week 4 and Day 22! Today, we’re diving into the art of storytelling, specifically focusing on The Hook and how to use it to create Starting with Impact as a leader.
Think about your favorite stories – they usually grab you right from the beginning, right? As a leader, when you’re sharing an experience or trying to convey a message, that initial hook is crucial for capturing your audience’s attention and making them want to listen more.

For your one-minute video today, I want you to share a short story about a leadership experience you’ve had. The key here is to focus on your very first sentence or two. Experiment with different ways to open your story – maybe with a surprising statement, a compelling question, or a vivid image. Your goal is to immediately draw your listeners in and make them curious about what comes next.

After you’ve recorded your video, watch it back and pay close attention to your opening. Did it grab your attention? Did it make you want to hear more? Note down what you tried as your hook and whether you felt it was effective. What could you try differently next time to create even more impact right from the start? Let’s make your stories instantly captivating!
