Welcome to Day 9! Today, we’re exploring Purposeful Gestures and how they can be instrumental in Highlighting Key Information as a leader.
Think about how you naturally use your hands when you talk. Intentional gestures can emphasize important points, clarify your message, and keep your audience engaged. However, distracting or random gestures can have the opposite effect.
For your one-minute video today, I want you to explain a project milestone or a significant achievement to an imaginary team member. As you do this, consciously experiment with using hand gestures to emphasize the key points of your explanation. Think about using open palms to signal inclusivity, pointing to highlight specifics, or using a chopping motion to emphasize a crucial takeaway.
After you’ve recorded your video, watch it back and analyze your hand movements. Did your gestures feel natural and purposeful? Did they effectively highlight the information you wanted to emphasize? Note down one gesture you felt was particularly effective and one area where you could refine your gestures tomorrow to make them even more impactful.
